Tuition for Each Semester
Each Fall and Spring semester will be approximately 18 weeks. Each student will pay only for the number of lessons scheduled and not for weeks taken off (i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, etc.). Tuition for each student will be paid on a monthly basis. Payments are due at the first lesson of the month. Any payments more than 1 week late will be charged a $10.00 late fee. Any payments more than 2 weeks late will be a charged a $25.00 late fee. Payments may be given in the form of cash, check, PayPal, or Venmo.
At the end of each semester, the teacher will evaluate the student’s current lesson time and may suggest that the student increase or decrease the amount of weekly lesson time. It is recommended that you take the teacher’s advice as sufficient lesson time is needed for the student to progress at the optimum pace; however, the student will ultimately make the decision.
Monthly Cost of Lessons
30 minute lessons: $80
45 minute lessons: $115
60 minute lessons: $150
Cost of Materials
Students are required to pay for any books, flashcards, or other materials that are needed for lessons. The teacher will order and deliver needed books throughout the semester to save the student the time and trouble of finding and/or ordering books. Payment is expected at the time the teacher delivers the materials to the student. The need for new books or materials will be discussed with the student and/or their parents at least one week in advance in order to avoid unexpected costs. For example, a beginning student’s cost of materials is typically about $20 and new books are needed every few months.
Please let the teacher know if you have any books other members of your family have used and she will evaluate them and attempt to use them if possible. Please note, though, that each student has individual needs and may require other materials than those already owned. Theory books are unable to be reused if they have been written in.
Miscellaneous Fees
On the occasion that the student chooses to participate in festivals, auditions, and competitions offered each year, the cost per event will be made known to the student prior to the event and those fees will be added to the student’s tuition in the appropriate month(s). Please note that no portion of any entry fee is passed along to the teacher.
